The Artist

"I began painting along the Marginal Way coastline as a teenager, studying with artist George Carpenter. Decades later, I still return to there, the beautiful skies, and the many moods of the sea; is not my only subject matter, but it is a part of my own emotional and artistic history.

it is a place of reflection, solitude, and healing. I have walked these paths through many seasons of my life, joy, loss, uncertainty, love, and renewal. The coastline has remained a constant presence. The shifting light, the movement of the sea, and the quiet endurance of the rocks remind me of something deeply human: the way we weather change while still searching for beauty, meaning, and peace.

This summer series is about memory, resilience, and the enduring bond between landscape and the inner life. The coastline has changed over the years, and so have I yet coming back to paint this edge of Maine always feels like a return to something essential."
