Breathe In, Let Go, Wells Harbor Marsh

A winding ribbon of water moves through a luminous green marsh beneath a softly layered sky of lavender, pale blue and warm yellow. In the foreground, loose clusters of violet and magenta flowers bring saturated color into the landscape, creating a composition that feels both expansive and intimate.

Claire Bigbee simplifies the marsh into broad passages of green, ochre and deep earth tones, allowing the water to pull the eye through the composition toward the distant tree line. The flowers remain recognizable while dissolving at the edges into expressive strokes and color.
